@Tenjichin @sadie_sassafras also with story skip players, many of them dont talk nor ask questions or anything so you are just kinda hit with it and you have to do some investigation before realizing they dont know their class. Im out here trying to play AST not Bluesclues ya know?

@Tenjichin @sadie_sassafras Oh yea 100%, though at least from what ive experienced the anti story skippers arnt super blatant about not knowing their class. They are typically just dogshit. For Story/Levelskips its like "Sick buddy, im glad you figured out your damage but can you use TBN please?"

@quidama_ Bruh, "the story doesnt teach you anything, the trials and dungeons do" The MSQ questing literally has "COMPLETE *INSERT DUNGEON HERE*" as a way to continue the story. That means the main STORY quest does teach you the game. People are purposely trying to be stupid.

just to be clear, you're free to skip the story but 9 times out of 10 those that do and go immediately into raiding end up looking like this

It’s 2026, we are gonna be 6 expansions deep into FFXIV soon. Can we stop with the weird gatekeepy behavior if someone doesn’t want to play through 250 hours of story to be able to play some of the best MMO raid encounters ever made? Heaven forbid someone asks you a small lore question if they start getting interested in the story after starting the game 10 years late. Are we really gonna keep driving people away with this weird NIMBY ritual? Just use your social skills (lol) and answer the small question, suggest they start a story alt on their downtime, or direct them to a synopsis video on YouTube. Crying about “story skippers” this deep into a game’s development cycle is peak cringe. If they set up a skip to Dawntrail for new characters to jump into the new story arc I and many others feel like it would be beneficial for the game’s long term health. While the Hydaelyn/Zodiark arc is great storytelling it’s also not a sacred cow for people to clutch pearls over. At the end of the day, it’s a game to be played. We’re all better than this and should start acting like it.

@vivilotl @_YadaYadaYa_ @VinlandTime @khellas_zone Arnt there mechanics in Brayflox Longstop Hard and the Dollhouse mechanic in the Antitower that can target the 2 dps, meaning that the Tank and healer are REQUIRED to deal damage to not cause a wipe? Thats not "Unwritten" thats a genuine mechanic, in group activity.
