@Synnerette I had a similar experience in m2s with a GNB SGE duo, the GNB complained I didn't use feint on enrage (overkilling us by like 40k or some shit)

Not saying ff14 raid content is perfect, but it usually hits more than it misses
Ultimates are something that hasn't really been done successfully in other games, that is the draw for endgame

It’s 2026, we are gonna be 6 expansions deep into FFXIV soon. Can we stop with the weird gatekeepy behavior if someone doesn’t want to play through 250 hours of story to be able to play some of the best MMO raid encounters ever made? Heaven forbid someone asks you a small lore question if they start getting interested in the story after starting the game 10 years late. Are we really gonna keep driving people away with this weird NIMBY ritual? Just use your social skills (lol) and answer the small question, suggest they start a story alt on their downtime, or direct them to a synopsis video on YouTube. Crying about “story skippers” this deep into a game’s development cycle is peak cringe. If they set up a skip to Dawntrail for new characters to jump into the new story arc I and many others feel like it would be beneficial for the game’s long term health. While the Hydaelyn/Zodiark arc is great storytelling it’s also not a sacred cow for people to clutch pearls over. At the end of the day, it’s a game to be played. We’re all better than this and should start acting like it.

@sadie_sassafras I dont really care if someone skips the story. The issue is that alot of people who skip the story also buy level skips as well. That also means that your brand new level 80 Dark Knight will not turn his tank stance on, use mitigation and drop the nearest tank buster on you. c:

You still need a soul stone to even get your full lvl 60 kit. There’s also what, 3 more after potd?
And triple triad ‘unlock’ is early on, but I’m talking about the people that go for all the cards.

@Tenjichin @SongbirdN7 id like to say the examples you gave and "being locked behind 200 hours of a content" is very hilarious given deep dungeons (POTD) is unlocked at level 15 and the gold saucer (which is where triple triad is unlocked) is around the same time, lmao. which is maybe a couple hours in

I honestly do not care how other people play the game but personally I cannot imagine skipping msq. I'm sure there are people who don't care for the journey but imo the hundreds of hours long journey *is* FFXIV
