Having grown my Zerodha account 5x in last 19 months since I started systematic intraday options trading, felt I am eligible enough to share my principles around below topics that helped me scale up. A thread on my style of position sizing, compounding and handling drawdown 👇

₹1 lakh invested in Niftybees in January 2008 is worth ₹4.43 lakh today. 8.45% CAGR over 18 years. That same ₹1 lakh, switched between Niftybees and Goldbees using one trading rule, became ₹20.84 lakh. 18% CAGR. Here's the strategy details 🧵

With returns drying up in 0DTE, looking back I'm thankful for 3 things I did 1. Focusing on diversifying outside 0DTE space. Today I run 57 setups in F&O 2. Becoming fulltime trader. Gave me time to research 3. Trading with ultra-pro-max leverage in good times. Gave me capital

If there is one thing I want to focus on in 2025 it is allocating my bandwidth towards nullifying regulatory risk. All this while in trading I've been focusing on reducing drawdown risk and value at risk. Time to take a step back and focus on the risk created by our big daddy.

If there's one secret sauce behind me scaling up as big and as fast as I have, it is Fixed Fractional Risk style of position sizing. Listen to this video to know why.

@ripusingla Just curious, what's the rolling window length in 0DTE expectancy curve? I'm guessing maybe 8 0DTE days?

here is some data @PRAFULKULKARN18 @Nick_khandelwal this is very close to what you are describing, intraday delta hedged. some params , flavours may differ based on preference. returns have been coming down, almost -ve territory

Is pure delta neutral trading currently a negative EV system? Can anyone simulate if delta hedged short gamma trades are net negative for the year? "Finding any edge, be it positive or negative, is quite difficult" If you can get a negative edge, you can simply invert it.

Jan'25 - Oct'25 was a tough time. Two things I did that helped: 1. Analyzed market segments in terms of leverage availability. 2. Self-assumed the role of a multi-skill (coding, trading, data analysis) Technical Manager guiding my AI interns to do the work towards my goals 😎

@jinit_27 I don't trade stock options. I trade stock futures. Not big slippage there.

@GoldenDustbin @AshishGupta325 Hi Aamodh, with stock options, isn’t liquidity / slippage proving to be a problem? I front tested some short vol stock option set ups, but slippage was just far too high - backtesting with 1-2% slippage also did not help.

@GoldenDustbin Okay cool :) I'm wondering how you're handling order management without a database because each setup of yours will fire multiple orders, then the carry forward trades, each will have target and stoploss and those could get cancelled or rejected for any reason etc, etc.

@TamilSelvanN1 Not sure what you mean by database. OHLC is stored in csv. In-code database management is via dataframes/pandas. Beyond this I need to feed your query and my code to AI and ask :) Cloud service - AWS OS - windows These I believe are immaterial for low frequency trading.

@prashanttejura You can't now. Back in the day (2020-2024) margin required to sell one lot straddle was much lower.

@TamilSelvanN1 I don't even know what tech stack exactly means lol. It's a modular piece of code in a single file made up using perplexity. 2,805 lines of code for whatever its worth. All that matters to me is, it works.
