I woke up and my Upwork contract was gone. No warning. No message. Just “Contract Ended.” A few months after I started freelancing, I landed this client who was paying me really well. He was my highest-paying client at the time. We had a great relationship, and I stopped looking for other clients because I felt safe. In my head, I thought, “This is it. I’ve made it.” Then one morning, I woke up, checked Upwork, and saw the contract had ended. I was shocked. The previous day, we had chatted and everything seemed fine.
