Per #Reds Reds former All-Star First Baseman and Franchise Icon Joey Votto has gifted the City of Cincinnati, the Reds and the fans a custom-built Verdin street clock as a thank you for their support during his 22 years with the Reds organization. “I am excited about giving the Clock to the city, the team and its fans,” said Votto. “Being the oldest professional team, I wanted this Clock to add to the charm and mystique of the Cincinnati Reds experience.” Crafted by Cincinnati’s The Verdin Company, the Clock stands 16 feet, 8 inches tall with four 36‑inch dials, and is located on Crosley Terrace, just outside the main ballpark entrance. “We are incredibly grateful and honored to have this beautiful Clock adorn the front gates,” said Reds President and CEO Phil Castellini. “Joey made us proud every time he stepped onto the field. And this one-of-a-kind gift from him will continue to inspire and excite everyone who sees it.” The Clock is finished in the official Reds Pantone red with white trim. The top finial is hand‑painted to resemble a baseball, and each Clock face includes “Cincinnati” across the top and “Reds” along the bottom. The faces feature Roman numerals and the iconic Reds wishbone “C” centered on each dial. “There will continue to be massive moments happening at the ballpark in the future, and people making new memories,” Votto said. “I hope that I can still be part of it in some way, knowing the Clock adds character to this special place.”   Additionally, the clock head features speakers that can play hourly chimes and a wide range of music, including Take Me Out to the Ballgame. “Joey wanted the Clock to enhance our shared love of baseball, so we are collaborating with Joey and Verdin for fun ways to integrate it into our games,” said Castellini. At the base of the Clock, a bronze plaque honors Votto’s contribution. The plaque reads: “Thank you Cincinnati” with Joey Votto’s signature underneath it. “Joey was involved in planning every detail. He wanted his thank you gift to be a showstopper and we are thrilled with how it turned out,” said The Verdin Company CEO Bob Verdin III.

An 18-year-old innocent college freshman, Sheridan Gorman, gets shot in the BACK and executed on a Chicago pier at 1:15 a.m. Chicago media’s headline? “Wrong place, wrong time.” Shot. In. The. Damn. Back. These disgusting hacks are still trying to blame the dead girl instead of admitting the truth: this was a cold-blooded assassination by a Venezuelan illegal who never should have been here. Meet the killer the media is desperate to hide: Jose Medina-Medina • Venezuelan national • Snagged at the border in 2023 → Biden let him walk • Arrested for shoplifting → skipped court like it was nothing • Still roaming free… until he puts a bullet in an American teenager’s back. But hey, nothing to see here...just call him a “Rogers Park man” and get back to protecting the open borders narrative. Sickening. (article below)

I was talking to my Lyft driver, who’s from Afghanistan. He told me how the Taliban has been trying to erase their culture and traditions. He said he’s genuinely happy to see Iranians still resisting the mullahs and holding onto things like Nowruz, because in Afghanistan, people don’t even have that anymore. They’re not allowed to celebrate Nowruz or practice their traditions like before, because the Taliban has replaced them with its own version of Islamic rules. So when Iranians say, “I am Persian, I am not Muslim,” it is not just about religion. It is about identity, culture, and survival. It’s about refusing to let a regime redefine who you are, erase your history, and replace it with something forced on you. For Iranians, holding onto Nowruz, language, and heritage has been a form of resistance since Muslims invaded Iran. It’s a way of saying: you can take power, you can take homes, you can take lives, but you don’t get to take who we are.

Those wheels you’re looking at are 0.75 millimeters thick. That’s half the thickness of a US dime. Each one was carved from a single block of aluminum, and NASA sent six of them to Mars knowing they’d eventually shred. Curiosity was built for a 2-year mission. It landed in August 2012, and by December that year NASA had already extended the mission indefinitely. Thirteen years and 35.5 kilometers later, the rover is still going, but the wheels started cracking just 14 months in. The damage came faster than anyone at JPL predicted. Sharp embedded rocks were punching straight through the skin between the treads. So NASA assembled a Wheel Wear Tiger Team (a crisis problem-solving tradition that goes back to Apollo 13) and got to work. In 2017, they uploaded a traction control algorithm from Earth that adjusts each wheel’s speed in real time based on the terrain, reducing force on the front wheels by 20%. They rerouted the rover to softer ground and started driving backward when possible, because pulling wheels over rocks produces less force than pushing them into rocks. The wildest part: if enough treads snap off, Curiosity is designed to find a sharp rock on Mars and use it to deliberately rip out the damaged inner section of its own wheel. JPL tested this on a replica rover and found Curiosity can keep driving on just the outer third. They predict this won’t be needed until around 2034. Every 1,000 meters, the rover pulls over and uses the camera on its robotic arm to photograph its own wheels so engineers on Earth can count every crack. Each wheel also has tiny holes that spell “JPL” in Morse code, which Curiosity uses to measure distance by photographing its own tracks in the dirt. These photos directly changed the next rover. When NASA built Perseverance, engineers 3D-printed about 70 different tread designs before landing on 48 curved treads instead of Curiosity’s 24, with thicker skin. They tested the new wheels over 60 kilometers and got zero damage by Curiosity’s original failure definition. “A boring graph with no data on it,” as one JPL engineer put it. A $2.5 billion machine doing self-surgery with rocks on another planet because the mission outlasted its design by 6x.

This man was on a long flight in Asia. He always sets up a camera to do a time lapse for his social media. He claims to have caught one of the flight attendants going through his bag and stealing his bank card and other belongings. The flight attendant denies it, but something about their demeanor seems off. They refuse to call the police, but instead they are telling him they will have customer relations contact him instead. Could it be the flight attendant does this often and they are covering up for him?
SonnyBoy🇺🇸@gotrice2024

When you go on planes now, apparently they advise you to put your bags on the floor under the seat for your own protection. Seems like this lady decided she would take advantage of that. She reached underneath and took the purses belonging to the family behind her. She’s not hiding the fact she did it, she even offers to give them their phone charger back. I’m having a hard time figuring out why she feels entitled to other people’s property. This is a bold example of theft but why haven’t the security guards gotten involved?

It’s incredible what can happen if you simply lock up the 1-3% of the population who are the most dysfunctional members of society and commit like 90% of the crimes. You can take a third world country and move it forward a century almost overnight. This is radicalizing, but it should also be optimistic. It means that decline is a choice.

Let me get this straight: Biden opened the border from 2021 to 2025. The Venezuelan illegal alien who killed Sheridan Gorman came across that border in May of 2023, was apprehended and released into the country by CBP under Biden. He was arrested AGAIN in June of 2023 in Chicago for shoplifting but was released thanks to Democrats' pro-crime/sanctuary city policies... But somehow, according to Illinois Governor JB Pritzker, Sheridan Gorman's death is TRUMP'S FAULT? How is that even remotely possible?
