@RalphSmorra @MaxNordau You are saying if medicaid had more it would spend it, but it just the way you like. Who can guarantee that? For this to be a fair analysis, you'd have to back out the financial and nonfinancial gain to the US govt and US cos. That gain outstrips the aid number by far.
English

@GoldsteinRBG @MaxNordau Even though our p/capita spending on healthcare is high, it would pay for ~443,020 or more US citizens to have medicaid. Medicaid pays what it pays, so increased demand from medicaid recipients doesn't tend to increase prices, at least, no as much as increased market demand.
English

@JayBeeskh2 @RalphSmorra @MaxNordau I dont know about other countries but in Israel you have a much healthier population (walking culture) and doctors are paid very poorly, relative to US. I think they also benefit from a lot of data collected on the population and long-term approach bc of single payer system.
English

@GoldsteinRBG @RalphSmorra @MaxNordau So how do the countries with socialized healthcare spend less than the U.S. and get better outcomes?
English

@RalphSmorra @MaxNordau If 3.8B were suddenly provided to supplement US health care, the cost of providing care would go up at least 3.8B. C.f. university costs.
English

@MaxNordau $3.8B could still provide a lot of healthcare for those who can't afford it. ACA originated as a Heritage Fdn alternative to socialized medicine, to provide universal healthcare via market, by reqg young/healthy to get cvg, but that was struck down by SCOTUS,so cost keep going up
English

@wolmanj Now, I strongly agree the labels should be highly differentiated, as many are saying!
English

@GoldsteinRBG If it’s not kosher for Passover, it’s not matzo by definition
English

@wolmanj Whose definition? I mean, it seems like Manischewitz might have some expertise on that....
English

Agreed. I hope JDV read Netanyahu the riot act over this evil. There have to be consequences.
Rep. Ritchie Torres@RepRitchie
The crisis of extremist settler violence in the West Bank must be confronted, and the perpetrators must be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. There should be zero tolerance for violent extremism, no matter what form it takes and no matter what direction from which it comes.

@NancyRPearcey Because they are typically more giving, which is required to not resent parenthood.

Some songs are written…and some songs carry a נשמה, waiting for the right moment to be revealed.
This niggun was born years ago in the holy alleyways of Tzfat, and only now, with Aaron Razel's new grandchild entering the world, did Aaron feel that it was ready to be revealed.
When Aaron sent it to me, I felt something very deep in my heart — a quiet reminder of something we all know, but so often forget:
Hashem never asked to dwell in a building.
“ושכנתי בתוכם” — בתוך כל אחד ואחד.
Especially now, when so many of us are searching for a מקום of safety, for something steady to hold onto, this niggun is softly telling us:
Make a מקום for Him inside.
I’m so grateful to share this with my dear friend, אהרן רזאל.
May we be zocheh to feel the שכינה בתוכנו, wherever we are.

@0321K9 I had to double check to see if this wacko was actually a parody account
English

Absolutely stupid, naive, mental behavior.
I couldn’t give less of a shit whether you’re choking down a baguette or shoving it where the sun don’t shine. But when a business covers chametz on Passover, tearing it down is vandalism. Simple as.
Don’t like it? Then get the hell out & spend your money somewhere that sells Chametz.
You work there? Pack your shit and go find a job at a carpet shop.
A business gets to decide what it sells & when, based on the owner’s religious values and the customer base it serves.
If you can’t handle that, that’s your problem.
If you keep making a scene about it every damn year, you’re everyone’s problem.
Sincerely,
Fuck off.

@grok @TechieFx @realstewpeters So, @grok what are the upward shooting missiles? That is not how iron dome works. Search deep in your soul. This is clearly fake and you know it.

Israel has closed the Church of the Holy Sepulchre indefinitely for the first time in the history of Christianity.
Holy Week and Easter services will be prohibited. Sunday masses and liturgies cancelled. A church that should be packed with hundreds of thousands these coming weeks is being forcibly shut and silenced.
Israel cites it is for ‘security concerns’ while Jewish Israelis are allowed to celebrate in mass gatherings. Alongside the forced closure of Al-Aqsa mosque, reports cite priests aggressively being turned away to perform daily services.
Throughout history, wars, tensions, or even the pandemic limited access to the sanctuary, but they had never prevented liturgical celebrations in this central place of Christian faith indefinitely. Christians must not remain silent.

@TheFlagGuy_ @dom_lucre @CatShoshanna How can you tell from this that they are? My untrained eye sees generic hasid. If NK, my apologies and carry on!
English

@GoldsteinRBG @dom_lucre @CatShoshanna Do you like the Neturei Karta?
I don’t know anyone that does.
English

@amiKozak Maybe he should tattoo his show notes somewhere on his person?
