Brilliant NYE @GolfManchester Me & Lady Captain Kath whacked a ball into the night off the 1st tee as is tradition & 2026 is already shaping up to be a very special year. I’m honoured to be taking on the role of Captain of The Manchester Golf Club, a club with a proud history, exceptional membership and amazing staff! With my late father, David Leech, having served as Captain in 2006, it is a huge privilege to become the club’s first father and son captains in over 143 years! Humbling to say the least! I’m very much looking forward to a year of golf, camaraderie and doing the role justice. We have some exciting plans & already some prestigious golf events in the diary. What a brilliant start to the week ,I had the pleasure of meeting and playing with Josh today @GolfManchester josh is trying to break the world record for most DIFFERENT golf courses played in a year in memory of his mum who he lost very suddenly to cancer back in 2023. The @Golfalot team have done it again with a facinating driver test at the Club. We were delighted to host their test of the new Titleist GT3 driver against a twenty-year-old Titleist 905R driver - with fascinating results. Their full video is online now bit.ly/mangc173.

Great new video on the @golfalot YouTube channel, filmed in part at Hopwood. The team were fitted at the Ping Fitting Studio for a £2,000 PLD Putter - when it shipped, they unboxed it and put it to the test on our putting green. It's really worth watch: bit.ly/mangc172
