What really pisses me off is that they’re doing this by choice. We’re literally watching people actively drag themselves backward and choosing suicidal self-sabotage. But it really doesn’t have to be like this. In third world countries, people are stuck in those brutal conditions and are desperate to claw their way out of them because obviously no sane mind would actually choose this. But we’re not dealing with sane, rational people anymore. These insane leftist degrowth crowd treats primitivism like a virtue. They romanticize poverty and squalor, and they act like returning to some brutal state of nature would be morally superior. And I’m pretty sure that’s also why they’re unfazed by the living conditions in Cuba and Venezuela. They don’t see those outcomes as failures, they want more of it. And that’s exactly what they will get. If this rot isn’t ripped out of the West, it’ll destroy centuries of progress in science, industry, and growth, and all the things that actually delivered the highest living standards humanity has ever known.
