100 windmills could power Gloucestershire with 100% green electricity which could be owned by the public.
That’s our ambition @ecotricity.

@edwinhayward Isn't this social media?

The Guardian have just given up on Twitter. Weirdly, they don't seem to have moved elsewhere. Not yet, anyway.
Feels a bit standoffish for them not to have an official presence on social media as a huge news organisation in 2024, but that's their choice.

@NoFarmsNoFoods But it should be, if British Farmers produced what people actually wanted to consume, and were not demeaned by the Supermarkets, the slogan might gain some traction.
English

@NoFarmsNoFoods The UK has relied on imported food for over 2 centuries. UK food security depends on global trade. We produce 60% of our food by value, less by quantity. We are 54% self-sufficient in vegetables, and 16% in fruit The slogan "No Farmers, No Food, No Future" isn't at all accurate.

“Farmers will hold back meat and crops from supermarkets next week as part of a ‘national strike’ against Labour’s inheritance tax raids.”

@edwinhayward Better is: "No Nature, No Farms, No Farmers"

Farming. Name another industry which requires such a gigantic commitment of unrealisable assets for so little real-world return?
Said it before elsewhere but it bears repeating: farmers only remain farmers because they ignore economic logic. They'd be better off selling up, investing the cash, and living off interest and dividend income. We are all extremely fortunate that they don't.

@Mofoman360 No, but 2000 hours (approximately a year's work) of community service in a care home could be appropriate...?

@NHSMillion Setting up different parts of the NHS with different populations, staffing problems (or not), demographic differences and Industrial heritages and expecting them to compete on a level playing field is invidious.

My followers are crashing...
Because people are leaving this place?
Because the algorithm is working against me?
Because this site is blocking people from following me (that's already happened)?
Please help me reach out to followers I've lost by RTing.
And let's try to keep this a positive place to share news, views, science, history, kindness and love.

Are there any other appeals to deities that Mr Jenrick objects to: 'Adieu' perhaps? The German 'Schüss' owes its origins to 'adieu' apparently. Or 'please God by your children' (I used to hear as a child) or just 'Please God'. 'God willing'? 'God knows'? 'Gawd', 'Jesus!'

Robert Jenrick believes that somebody shouting #AllahhuAkbar on the streets of #London should be immediately arrested. No push back from Wilfred Frost on @SkyNews

Nigel farage wants you to think that Britain has an immigration problem.
It doesn't.
Britain had a problem with millionaires hoarding wealth, egged on by politicians and the press.
Britain has a problem with racism.
Britain has a @Nigel_Farage problem.
RT if you agree.
