Avis here with something on my mind I want to share for you other wives out there to think about. Yesterday I was talking with a younger friend of mine who is in her late 30s about fitness and checking in on her. What she said floored me. She said, “I’m just gonna be fat.” She’s in a long-term marriage, a SAHM with two kids, and has been gaining weight since having kids. Now she weighs more than she did even when pregnant. We developed a plan together 6 months ago to help her improve her fitness and lose weight. We looked at all her “roadblocks” and worked through them. Her husband supports her with resources, and she said, “I’m just gonna be fat.” This is unacceptable and inexcusable. Why is this the attitude your husband deserves when he provides you with the resources? How would she feel if he said, “I’m just gonna be broke and homeless”? She is an amazing mom, but she’s lost the plot of marriage. And why? Because changing habits takes effort. It’s not hard, but it requires change and being a little uncomfortable. But I imagine going to bed at night knowing her husband has given her resources and suggestions on ways to improve, yet she just wants to be fat, is also uncomfortable. ~A

“Just a mother” is the problem. We are defining success according to incorrect terms. Being a good mom is huge

“I'm not too concerned about that right now.” USMNT legend Cobi Jones was asked about Christian Pulisic’s form in 2026. He still doesn’t have any goals yet and only one assist this year. “It's a slump. You know, it happens in every sport,” Jones said on First Things First. “We talk about it in a variety of different ways. But you know, for me, it's about, can Christian Pulisic get ready at the right time? So I'm not too concerned about this.” “In these next series of games that are upcoming, can he be a little bit more precise? He even mentioned it.” “Can he be more sharp in front of goal? Also, in these games, it's all about the timing, you know.” “And I think Pulisic has those special capabilities. I'm not too concerned about that right now because as we kind of mentioned, to score goals, you have to have the right people around you, and you have to be in the right positions.” “He was being experimented with on the left, in the center, you know, I think they've got to just figure out his best position, where he could be the most dangerous.” “I think he likes to come in off of that wing and cut inside and have a go. I think that's probably the best position for him.” Do you agree with Jones? Will Pulisic show up at the right time for the USMNT? 👀 The last time he scored for his country was in November 2024.
