The silly, bush, fake energy …songs, chants, banging, yelling at opposing pitcher (players). Sarcasm. Etc. is such a tired act. How about the novel idea of genuinely pulling for your teammates with authentic enthusiasm and encouragement. That is what helps win games. Real opponents are not shaken with the antics of opposing dugouts.

Are high school, travel, and college coaches scared to lose players if they don’t let them act like absolute idiots. I’m talking about going past the line and that’s what’s happening now. Seeing it at every level. How do we fix it? @Javi_DeJesus13 @robyounce @nextlevelbb

If you can’t play catch with a partner from 60-90 feet away and hit him in the chest almost every single time you should not even be talking about playing college baseball. If you can’t play catch correctly you’re never getting on the field.

Nick Lodolos last start…..September 25. 6.1, 0 runs, 2 hits, 1 walk, 12 K’s…..makes sense that he wouldn’t start in the playoffs. #clownshow #TitiSucks

The bat boys and ticket girls said: “We want our moment on X.” So here it is. And they earned it. They rocked the highly exclusive #TheyPickedMe shirts at the Jr. ACME State Tournament. And they understood the assignment. Future MVPs, hype crew energy! Yes!

Undersized player? Keep working! Big for your age? Keep working! Not much means less than size and talent at age 12 and under. You literally might think a 12 year old is so big, strong and good, they will be a sure fire HS star one day… or even a future D1 or MLB player. And you might be right or you might be very wrong. Only time will tell… You mighty see a small player, who is not super skilled and think “their days are numbered.” “No way this kid will ever play HS baseball.” And you might be right or very wrong. Only time will tell… The key is the work put in and maturation. Those who work, learn, and strive for greatness often get much better. Sometimes significantly better. Bodies change and the big (60/90) field exposes weaknesses. The HR with the light “hot bat,” becomes a lazy fly ball, caught for an out. Some of the best 12 year olds won’t start on varsity or even make their varsity team. Hard to beleive, but true. Below is a picture of two players at 12. Both good kids. But the one on left struggled to get PT on a very good 12 year old travel team…. 6 years after this pic, he was “Georgia AAA Player of the Year.” He then became a D1 starting shortstop … and the player on the right was the stud SS at 12. Never came off SS except to pitch. You just never know how it’s going to play out…. Big kid… keep working… never be satisfied…. Or that little guy on the bench might one day pass you by… and you and your parents will have a tough time comprehending that. Little kid… keep working. Never give up. Hone your skills. Pay attention to all the little things that matter. Once old enough, hit the weight room. Stay hungry! Because in the end, you might become the dude… even when no one else thinks it possible looking at you now… Moral of the story. Don’t give up on players at 12 or 13. Big mistake…. @nextlevelbb
