The on-chain layer and off-chain layer move at different speeds. Name/URI on-chain → updates instantly ✅ Image at that URI → cached by wallets for hours ⏳ This is why serious NFT projects use Arweave or IPFS. The pointer is permanent, so the thing it points at should be too.

I spent a week building Solana NFTs from scratch and the thing nobody told me: You don't need Metaplex at all. A Solana NFT is just a mint with supply 1, decimals 0, and a metadata extension stamped directly onto it. That's it. No magic. No separate program. 🧵
