St. Glicherie is one of the greatest saints of the 20th century. At the setting of the sun tonight, June 15th on the Church’s calendar, we arrive at his feast day. All Orthodox Christians in our times should know his life (hotca.org/pdf/stglicheri…) and foster a prayerful relationship with him through his intercessions.

For the current celebration of our Lord's Baptism and Theophany, an epistle from His Eminence, Metropolitan Moses of Toronto ON (Please review the links for photos of the processions, they're quite beautiful!) : "Brothers and Sisters in Christ, I write to you on the eve of the Sunday after Holy Theophany. I invite you to review the photographs of the procession to the port of Piraeus and the Blessing of the Waters at the links below: The Procession to Piraeus : ecclesiagoc.gr/index.php/%CE%… facebook.com/impcgr/photos Processions Throughout Greece : ecclesiagoc.gr/index.php/%CE%… I try to attend this event every year in order to represent Metropolitan Demetrius and all of our Bishops of our local Eparchial Synod in the Western Hemisphere and show support and solidarity with our Archbishop Kallinikos and our Holy Synod in Greece. We are all bishops of the Holy Synod of the GOC of Greece, but our local bishops meet in order to administer to the specific needs of our local flock. We have progressed through this most blessed time of year wherein we celebrate the awe-inspiring Incarnation of our Lord and God, Who was given the name “Jesus,” that is, “Savior” because He came to save us. Presently, we have been celebrating the Divine Theophany, wherein He Who created the heavens and the earth, bowed His head before a servant and was Baptized so that we, who were servants of sin, would be set free. He sanctified the waters by His presence, so that we would be sanctified. He was submerged into the water in an image of His death and came up out of the water in an image of His resurrection, so that we, through our Baptism would die to sin and be resurrected unto life. When our Lord came up out of the waters the heavens were opened and the Holy Spirit in the form of a dove appeared over Him and the voice of the Father thundered forth: “Thou art My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.” (Mark 1:11) The God-Man appeared and the Worship of the Holy Trinity was made manifest. In times of old the Prophet Moses received initiation into things Divine and his face was glorified and when he spoke to the people, he put a veil on his face. (Exodus 34:35) This signifies for us that the prophecy of the Old Testament can only be understood in the fuller revelation of the New Testament. We call the present feast “The Feast of Lights” because the veil of prophecy was removed and fulness of Light of Divine knowledge of the Holy Trinity was made manifest. Brothers and Sisters in Christ, in this feast we come face to face with Divinity and Immortality. In this feast we are invited to repent and turn from sin and be Baptized in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Our God became Man so that we would become members of His Body and kindred of the Holy Trinity by participating in His Divine Grace. Our life has a Divine sanctifying purpose. We are called to commune with the Most High God. Jesus, the Savior, came to heal us and make us one with Him, according to grace. The chosen vessel of God, the Holy Apostle Paul has taught us: There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling; One Lord, one faith, one baptism, One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all. (Eph 4:4-6) In addition to this, in the Nicene Creed we proclaim that we believe: In One, Holy, Catholic, and Apostolic Church. I confess one baptism for the remission of sins. I look for the resurrection of the dead, And the life of the age to come. Amen. God spoke through our Holy God-bearing Fathers and taught us concerning His singular Baptism and singular Church. Salvation is communion with Christ through the singular Church of Apostolic Tradition, the Ecumenical Councils and the teachings of the Holy God-bearing Fathers. The Pearl of Great Price that our Savior spoke about in His parable is the singular Truth of the singular Church. (Matt 13:46) Saint Philaret the Confessor, of New York, stated many times that the greatest sin of our time is indifference to the Truth. Many are the hierarchs who occupy the thrones of historical Churches who have bent the knee to the Baal of Ecumenism and have led many astray by their indifference to the Truth. We cannot allow ourselves to be confused by positions of power or numbers. Truth is the criterion of authentic Christianity. Our Church is humble in size, yet our spiritual forefathers have preserved the Truth of Christ and were filled with the grace of God. We should never be intimidated by the fact that the Christians in these latter times are few. Our Lord said, Fear not, little flock; for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the Kingdom. (Luke 12:32) I want to share with you that during my time here in Greece, while I observe services of our Holy Church I am filled with awe and contemplate the spiritual reality of the generations upon generations of Orthodox Christians who guarded as the apple of their eye the One Faith and One Baptism of our Orthodox Church. When I see our brothers and sisters in Christ keeping the Holy Traditions of our Church I think of their ancestors who did likewise and I am filled with humble gratefulness towards all who have gone before, bishops, priests, monastics and the laity. I ask you all to teach your children and grandchildren concerning the bond that we have as members of the Body of Christ, from generation to generation. I ask you to teach your children to worship our One Lord, with our One Faith and to maintain the singular grace from our One Baptism. The world is in disarray and confusion, but if we faithfully follow in the footsteps of our God-bearing fathers and spiritual ancestors and learn what they taught and how they lived, then we can truly participate in the Feast of Lights, the Baptism of Christ, Divine Grace and Eternal Life. Amen. May God bless and enlighten you all in Christ Jesus our Lord. Your fervent suppliant unto the Lord. +Moses, of Toronto Theophany 2026"

"The Jesus Prayer stands among the means for success in acquiring the habit of walking before God. Everything that needs to be known about the practice of this prayer is found in the book The Unseen Warfare. Look there. The main thing here is to stand with attention in the heart and cry out to the Lord, Who is everywhere present. It is better to stand than to sit. As for breathing, the position of the head, and the like—it is better not to think about these at all… But to direct all attention to the inward disposition. The root of a good inward disposition is the fear of God. It must be made unceasing - It will keep everything in tension and will not allow either the members or the thoughts to relax, creating a vigilant heart and a sober mind. But one must always remember and feel that success in the spiritual life and in all its manifestations is the fruit of the grace of God. The entire spiritual life is from the Most Holy Spirit of God. We also have our own spirit, but it is powerless. It comes into strength when grace overshadows it." - Saint Theophan the Recluse
