Ruben Amorim didn’t fail at man utd. He came, saw and tried to build a team with an identity instead of just riding on a very short glory stint like most of his predecessors since SAF. His 3-4-3 wasn’t just a formation, it was a big test to who could handle the physicality and intensity of modern football, those who couldn’t were botted out immediately with more on their way to join that list this summer. He prioritized players that could fit in and for the first time since the days of SAF the system was the star not the signings. Amorim wanted a team that played dominant possession football and not to sit back and wait for moments. He didn’t want a team that only relied on Bruno who will get the numbers but everyone else will starve. Mount, Mbeumo and Amad all become important.

Ruben Amorim could have gotten us Champions League football if he stayed. The foundation Carrick is thriving on? That’s Amorim’s work… the players he brought in, the basics he drilled, the partnerships and instincts he built. The moment a manager plays a system that limits most of his attacking players that system is wack. Olise, Dias and Kane are all enjoying from Kompanys system not just one player but all 3. Same with Psg. Kvara, Dembele and Doue are all enjoying even bakola. Carricks system is limiting Mbeumo and Amad and even Cunha and every assist passes through Bruno Fernandes, if you don’t see any problem with that you just hate the truth.
