Remember that post-Brexit deal Johnson rushed to sign with Australia and which even the guy who signed it, Eustice, admitted was "not actually a very good deal" selling out UK farmers ? After 8yrs the EU just signed its own much bigger deal. Only people unhappy ? Australian farmers who don't get nearly as much access to EU markets as they wanted, contrary to the above. UK farmers would have had the same protection in the EU Brexit, never knowingly in the UK's interests

Caerlaverock Castle, Dumfries & Galloway, Scotland 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 One of Scotlands most unusual looking 13th-century castle sits near the Solway Firth, surrounded by a wide water-filled moat and green fields. Its triangular shape is what makes it stand out - one of the only castles built like this in all of Britain. The powerful Maxwell family made it their main stronghold after King Alexander II granted them the land around 1220 - the red sandstone towers and walls still show how strong it once was. The castle saw plenty of fighting over the centuries. In 1300, Edward I of England brought a big army and laid siege to it during the Wars of Scottish Independence - the event was even written about in a famous poem at the time, titled “The Roll of Caerlaverock". Ownership has changed several times and the castle was badly damaged in 1640 during the Covenanting Wars. After that, the Maxwells finally left it to ruin. Today, those ruins are still standing and still impressive, especially the twin-towered gatehouse. The moat creates nice reflections on calm days, and the peaceful setting makes it feel quite different from most other castles. It’s run by Historic Environment Scotland and is open daily with a visitor centre on site.

Great to see @Scotgov and @ScotGovFM once again supporting Scottish organisations who contribute to the global common weal while mitigating climate change. Even more so with the UK brakes off in an independent Scotland. @JamesHuttonInst #Scotland #climate #IndependenceIsNormal
First Minister@ScotGovFM

Bringing together businesses and research to tackle the climate crisis can support the economy. First Minister @JohnSwinney opened the James Hutton Institute’s new Hutton Hub, Aberdeen. Backed by over £7m in @scotgov funding, it will support net zero innovation and create jobs.

Ten years on from a Government Scotland didn't elect holding a referendum we didn't want, which removed us from the EU against our will, it's not going well at all. The only way back to the EU is via Scottish independence. #Brexit #Independence #BothVotesSNP

The world's largest utility company just eliminated one of the most dangerous jobs on earth. China's State Grid which controls power for 1.1 billion people has deployed robotic electricians across 26 provinces and counting. These machines work on live, 10,000-volt wires while the power stays fully on. Before this, the workers who did this job wore full conductive armor and understood that one wrong move was fatal. Now the robot takes that risk instead. The machines strip insulation, tighten connections, and splice wires with millimeter precision, all while hanging at altitude on a live grid. They complete tasks 50 percent faster than a human crew and report a 98 percent success rate. This is already the operating standard in more than two dozen Chinese provinces. China is about to spend $554 billion upgrading its power grid between now and 2030. That is a war chest for building the most automated, AI-powered energy infrastructure in human history. Meanwhile, the United States has a shortage of 40,000 electricians and the gap is getting worse every year. China's answer to that problem is not a trade school, it is a fleet of machines that never sleeps or quits. Every other country still arguing about whether robots will replace workers is watching the answer get deployed in real time.

@BronwynChat @MacintoshMairi @JohnFerry18 Spain just boasted that because of their investment in renewable energy, Last week a mega watt hour of electricity just cost €14. Scotland also invested in renewable energy, but last week it cost us €158 for a mega watt hour of electricity.

Scientists have discovered that ants, after collecting grains and seeds which they need to store for the winter, actually break them into halves before storing in their nests. This is because by breaking the seeds into half, it stops them from germinating despite the most perfect conditions. But here comes the even more interesting part. Scientists were stunned when they discovered that coriander seeds stored in the ant nest were always broken down into 4 pieces instead of 2 pieces. After some lab research, scientists discovered that a coriander seed is the only seed that can germinate even after being divided into two, but can not germinate after it’s divided into four parts.
