San Francisco, you used to be beautiful… I get invited back every few years now. And the years have not been kind. I basically stay in my hotel like it’s gated parameter. Guys, no one can walk down the street anymore. This isn’t functional… Hope you come back one day.

@token2049 - you are being completely ridiculous. I can understand pausing the show for a bit. That is in fact prudent. Especially given that many people fly into #Dubai for your event and for now that is not feasible. BUT, completely cancelling and abandoning the #crypto and #blockchain community here for OVER ONE YEAR?!?! TOKEN2049 in Dubai cancelled. The only actually good crypto conference here - gone. TOKEN2049 Dubai (April 29–30) moved all the way to 2027 after the whole Iran fireworks situation. And suddenly half of the industry started leaving the city. Mostly Americans and Europeans. The moment they hear a bang - panic mode. Meanwhile Dubai is calm as usual. Also heard TON Gateway got cancelled too on May 1-2. But honestly… nobody serious was going there anyway. Mostly hamster tapper crowd pretending to be crypto. 🤝 @token2049

This is a really thoughtful reflection. I didn’t intend to watch the whole thing, but I ended up doing it anyway. AI is like playing a hard game you can’t beat with cheat codes on. It’s amazing at first, but it becomes boring very quickly. But worse than that, it does something to your brain that ruins the game. If you turn the cheat codes off, you become acutely aware that you’re now struggling unnecessarily. You can’t forget how easy it was, but you don’t want it to be that easy because it takes all the fun out of it, but now the inability to unsee what you’ve seen creates a tension that causes you to lose interest in even continuing to play. The magic is gone. You’ve broken the spell. AI is doing this to life. And the societal consequences are going to be enormous.

Unpopular opinion: Dubai 🇦🇪 will walk out stronger from the conflict because of how they've handle it. Think about it: They absolutely nailed citizen safety, reporting, alerts, communication leading to residents feeling completely secure despite airstrikes and drone attacks. Real estate was temporarily overheated over supply release in 2026 anyway but this minor connection will soon be over as bargain hunters step in. Watch it happen as buying frenzy comes in next weeks.
