“State assets” is a funny phrase considering the state produces nothing and earns nothing on its own.
Every so called state asset was first funded, built, maintained, or extracted from the productive output of private individuals through taxation, borrowing, inflation, or seizure.
The government has no independent source of wealth. It reallocates wealth created elsewhere.
So when politicians speak of “selling off state assets,” what they usually mean is transferring control of resources from political management back toward voluntary economic activity.
