Never been in this type of situation before, but I don't think I'd resign from a position if I didn't do anything wrong. I'd want my name as a journalist to be cleared of any wrong doing by an investigation, even if I was leaving that company in a few months.

REACTION: Dianna Russini has resigned from The Athletic… If she’s innocent and she’s confident the facts will back that up and investigation will show that…Why is she resigning? All Russini had to do was produce photos of the girls trip. Nobody has come out and said “I was there. Here are photos.” This would be the first ever girls trip without pictures. In her own statement, she did not deny any of the allegations. Journalistic ethics and integrity have been violated here. Conflict of interest comes into play. The New York Times has guidlelines for its reporters. The Athletic's editorial guidelines (which apply to all its journalists, including Russini) requires reporters to avoid any activities that create a conflict of interest or even the appearance of one. Interlocking fingers at an adults only, romantic getaway resort isn’t a good look. Lastly, is her career over? I don’t think so. She’ll have plenty of opportunities and if she has a scoop nobody else, people will read her story, though her credibility is damaged a bit.

Good to have the #Flyers, #Penguins, #Sabres, and #Canadiens back in the NHL playoffs. The league is better when the markets that really care about hockey have teams that are relevant.
