@JohnLewisRetail - like shopping with you because of your reputation but am not getting good service. We bought a faulty TV, your repairers didn't repair, left and didn't contact us, your customer services behaved oddly and hung up and your webiste provides no way of complaining

A thread. What has an incurable (currently), degenerative and progressive brain disease taught me as a follower of Christ? I’ll shall try to list them. 1) In Parkinson’s we are “on” or “off”. This is when the meds are working or they have run out. I take them 3 hourly.

The deepest sense in which "God cannot be mocked" is the literal one. You simply cannot plumb a deeper depth than God crucified. Everything since has been laughably tame and woefully out of date.

Emergency overseas trip. My father’s very unwell. I booked Norse Airlines (the EasyJet of transatlantic travel). Only now realising you have to pre-book meals. Good thing I’ve come prepared. Prayers for this flying visit appreciated 🙏

Perhaps he would politely ask the church in the UK whether we have read his past letters, what we haven't understood in them and why we have a problem with their authority...

When ‘Bible Christians’ criticise the world in a manner that contradicts the mode of speech urged in Scripture (generosity, grace, respect, gentleness, blessing, etc), don’t they forfeit the mantle ‘Bible Christians’, just as much as would the gracious heretic? #Truth + #Grace

"I do wonder what kind of God you worship" - written in an email from sub postmaster Tim McCormack to Paula Vennells. A reminder of the responsibility Christians have as ambassadors for Christ. But also a reminder that all Christians are sinners who worship a gracious God

@glenscrivener I was elected to the Diocesan Synod on the casting of lots. I received exactly the same number of votes as someone else and the CofE rules say that in such circumstances lots decide it

Casting lots was, at times, a way to make decisions: — in OT (eg Lev 16:8; Josh 18:10) — for ancient people (eg Jonah 1:7) — in NT (eg Acts 1:26) — for Christians of the past (eg the Wesleys) Would you ever make a decision by lots? Why, generally, do we recoil from the idea?
