#WritingCommunity and #amquerying folks, what’s one odd/quirky/eccentric fact about your MC?

@AuthorEmy I’m at 2ok and we haven’t even gotten to the good stuff yet 😂 this will be a long one I can tell
English

@eiffeltyler Totally agree like the L specifically, I hate pretty much every man I see

How many editing passes do you go through before you dub your MS query ready? How long does this take you?

@MisterHand1 It’s been about a month or so. You’re probably right. Thanks!
English

@GothicxAmanda That’s probably too small a sample size, especially without knowing how long it’s been since you sent out the queries with no response. I can tell you the average request rate on QueryTracker is only 4.6%. So an average query would get zero requests out of 10 62.4% of the time.

Hey guys I am once again seeking advice! When should you consider revisiting your query letter, I have sent out ten queries and gotten three form rejection and no partial or fulls. Should I consider revising my query and how best to do so? #WritingCommmunity #amquerying
English

I also suspect my synopsis might need revision. I don’t think it’s a great representation of my story but I’m not certain how to do that either. Advice is appreciated! #WritingCommmunity #amquerying

@chrismcauthor I’ve considered it but I’m not very good at self marketing so I’m worried no one would even read the book if I self published
English

@GothicxAmanda Have you looked at self publishing? Many authors on here are indies and self publish.
English

@Cynthia95001250 Awful, truly sorry you had to deal with that
English

@GothicxAmanda In 2008 I had a publisher for 2 books who then reneged. I got another one quite quickly, who delayed publication until 2011 and 2012. What followed was a long list of contractual breaches. I complained so he remaindered my novel after only 3 years.
I've only given you the tip
English

@GothicxAmanda Oh now you've caught my interest, thanks for that. I'll definitely check those out today. I'm usually fairly desperate to consume anything that can enhance my own writing.
I've gotten kings "on writing" but haven't cracked it yet.
Always love learning from the big names.
English

@Stephen_lafonta Oh man love On Writing! King had some great insights in that
