Only mechanically sound vehicles will be allowed on our roads. Bus operators have 60 days (8 Apr–8 Jun 2026) to present vehicles for inspection & roadworthiness certification. A decisive step to cut crashes caused by unsafe vehicles. @MoWT_Uganda

According to a scale audit conducted with guidance from the Uganda National Bureau of Standards (@UNBSug), 4 out of 5 traders tested failed to meet the acceptable weighing tolerance, meaning consumers could be paying for more beans than they actually receive. From imbalanced scales to weights outside the legal 15 gram allowance, the findings raise serious questions about accuracy in everyday trade. This investigation, “Faulty Scales Cost Kampala Consumers,” highlights why verified and certified weighing instruments matter for fair trade, consumer protection, and trust in our markets. Are you really getting what you pay for?

This is Achero Florence, a midwife in Kitgum. She notes that Before, mothers had to boil their own water, but now, thanks to the heater installed through the Results-Based Financing programme, care is cleaner, safer, and easier. A real change for both health workers and mothers.

After 35 years,Uganda has had three revisions: 1993, 2005, and now 2026. Today Uganda officially replaces the 2005 specifications with the Roads and Bridge Works 2026,setting minimum standards for the planning, design, construction, and maintenance of Uganda’s roads and bridges.

On behalf of @GovUganda, I signed an MoU with Tanzania to jointly develop the Isaka–Lusahunga–Murongo/Kikagati–Mpondwe SGR, a key step toward stronger regional connectivity. The SGR project will cut transport costs, boost trade, and improve cargo movement across East Africa.

For Fuga Francis in Soroti City, reliance on charcoal and firewood previously meant longer cooking times and a kitchen environment filled with smoke. By adopting a biofuel eco-stove supported through the RBF’s price subsidy mechanism, Francis now enjoys a more efficient and healthier cooking experience. Meals are prepared faster and the kitchen environment is much cleaner. Francis appreciates the support provided through the programme and thanks UECCC for promoting clean and sustainable energy solutions for households.
