LATEST: Government has given bus operators 60 days from 8th April to 8th June 2026 to voluntarily present their buses for inspection to ensure they are safe and fit for the road. The pronouncement has been delivered by Hon. Fred Byamukama, the Minister of State for Works & Transport [Transport]. The exercise will start with buses on the Northern and Eastern routes. The same exercise will later be extended to trucks and trailers, a move aimed at reducing road crashes resulting from vehicles in poor mechanical conditions. ⚠️Safer Vehicles, Safer Road Users, Safer Journeys!

Meet Achero Florence, a midwife in Kitgum She remembers when mothers had to boil their own water before delivery. Today, with a solar water heater in place through the RBF programme, care safer and much easier. Real change you can feel for both mothers and health workers.

The @MoWT_Uganda is today launching the General Specifications for Road and Bridge Works, 2026. With over 95% of passengers and freight relying on roads, the new specifications for Roads and Bridges will enhance durability, safety and value for money across Uganda’s road network.

After 35 years,Uganda has had three revisions: 1993, 2005, and now 2026. Today Uganda officially replaces the 2005 specifications with the Roads and Bridge Works 2026,setting minimum standards for the planning, design, construction, and maintenance of Uganda’s roads and bridges.

Entebbe International Airport Traffic Update – February 2026 Entebbe International Airport recorded 189,575 international passengers in February 2026, comprising 90,007 arrivals and 99,568 departures, an average of approximately 6,770 arrivals and departures per day. This represents a 39,387 increase from the 150,188 passengers recorded in January 2026. The February 2025 figure is also higher than that recorded in the same month of February 2025 by 30,072 arrivals and departures. In February 2025, the airport handled 159,503 international passengers (73,524 arrivals and 85,979 departures). On the cargo front, February 2026 recorded 2,955 metric tonnes of exports and 1,543 metric tonnes of imports, totaling 4,498 metric tonnes, up from 3,982 metric tonnes in January 2026. This also reflects an increase from February 2025, which recorded 3,157 metric tonnes of exports and 1,389 metric tonnes of imports. Overall, the upward trend in both passenger and cargo traffic highlights sustained growth in air transport activity. However, with parts of the Middle East airspace closed from February 28, 2026, and only a phased resumption of operations currently underway, several operators from Entebbe have been affected. As a result, traffic for March 2026 is expected to be lower.

This is Joyce Ocen Labong of Ajora Mixed Farm in Gulu City. She once relied entirely on rainfall, often facing dry spells. Today, with irrigation support from the RBF Programme, she farms all year round with a reliable water supply at both her home and farm. Thanks to @UECCC1
