No, because there’s no reason to think the Germans wouldn’t replace him with someone only marginally less monstrous. Hitler was only somewhat worse than figures like Ludendorff or Hindenburg, who had already run Germany during the First World War. Unless I knew his death would genuinely reduce suffering, rather than simply paving the way for a less overtly cruel but more competent leader who might inflict even more of it, there would be no point. Yes, because from her point of view, he was the one prophesied to bring about that suffering. It wasn’t a question of whether someone else might do the same; it had to be him. Killing him directly saves lives.
