Rowling is massively discounting the role luck played in the rags to riches story she has constructed for herself in which she has total agency in the trajectory that brought her wealth and fame. It’s a tragic delusion that permits her to make the comparison between herself and Emma in the arrogant manner that she does.
JK Rowling, responding publicly to Harry Potter star Emma Watson after Watson said she still had love for Rowling but was upset by the tone of the gender debate:
"Like other people who've never experienced adult life uncushioned by wealth and fame, Emma has so little experience of real life she's ignorant of how ignorant she is. I wasn't a multimillionaire at fourteen. I lived in poverty while writing the book that made Emma famous."
The woman who created Hermione Granger called the actress who played her ignorant and out of touch. Who was right?
LeBron James on his comments about Memphis:
“Did I say I don’t like Black people? … I’m 41 years old and there’s two cities I don’t like playing in right now. And that’s Milwaukee and that’s Memphis.”
Michigan is clearly just better, it’s time to let go of the everything school delusion and give basketball and football truly elite rosters.
Rick Barnes made the elite 8 with one shooter, and Josh won 8 games with an App State transfer at QB.
Give them a real shot to win big.
Rick Barnes is the best coach in Tennessee’s men’s basketball program history.
Better than Mears, better than Pearl.
(Takes deep breath)
Even better than Tyndall.
I know. Crazy. But I’m not afraid to take a stand.
