@GrahamAsplin @martin180smith @FootballFoundtn Merton playing fields looks like the Vietnams jungle. The council doesn't maintain it. People stop using it, then there is fresh ripe land there to be able to build houses on. The same as Hollinwood Back fields. These are fields ro be used as community assets

@OldhamCouncil Heres a stat for any local football teams on the state or lack of facilities in the Borough of Oldham We have 19 cricket clubs, all 19 have there own ground and clubhouse attached. We have 9 Rugby clubs all 9 have there own ground and a club house attached.

@martin180smith @Hollinwoodafc @FootballFoundtn Only if clubs manage to secure a 10 year lease which gets you enough to turf a pitch. 25 year lease to get what is actually needed. Problem is Oldham council don’t like letting clubs take long term leases on pitches or to secure old pitches because they get earmarked for housing

I spoke to @Hollinwoodafc yesterday, and put them in touch with the director in charge of it. The work on the new strategy hopefully starts next month. I’ve asked them to speak to you, Hollinwood and all the local teams to ensure your views are part of the strategy

Unfortunately @OldhamCouncil ignored your advice on a full size 4g at saddleworth school which now a whole community suffers because of their inadequate planning

It is looking like our first team will fold this season due to difficulties in recruiting enough open age players to carry on. A seemingly impossible task to get committed players week in week out. This comes, not as a surprise either, we will continue to rebuild with our u17s
