@madmedicalman @NJL_Blancq Do some research on the experiences of LGBT+ people and the impact this has on their access to healthcare and fair treatment. Do an FOI request to see how many LGBT+ people have felt the need to complain about the way in which they were judged and treated by healthcare workers.

@NJL_Blancq But I have asked you previously…. Where is the evidence that there is a benefit in doing this? How far does the ambulance service need to go to “build trust”? Where does the line get drawn?

So sick of having this argument, but fundamentally this is a good thing, that is a small part of the service-wide effort needed to recoup some of the LGBTQ+ community’s trust in us. It’s on US to make these efforts, because historically the ambulance service was NOT safe.

Paramedics and those in the emergency services are adaptable, multiskilled and crucially, know how to work under pressure. Proudly becoming Patron of @ParamedicsUK. It’s been a privilege to spend time today with first responders whose work saves lives day in, day out.
