@LookAroundCafe Keira was portraying a smart young woman who is framed as a damsel-in-distress turned femme fatale so of course people viewed her in a light more adjacent to that without even considering the idea that she was a minor for most of production.

To be even more direct: I don't think lolicons should be sent to prison. There's a cadre of people insistent that exposure to forms of media doesn't create real-world crime or harm, but will also demand imprisonment for this shit, and I fundamentally do not agree with it.

@LegoKingo Do you have some more info on this? I had no idea RE1 having low performance led to that, but it was a GameCube (the least popular console during that period) exclusive, so the low sales isn't exactly surprising.

It’s interesting that the RE1 remake selling poorly is what led to RE6 being more of an action game. Survival horror as a genre was dead in the AAA space for a while and was resurrected by PT and RE7.

@mmcbr4phzm I think it's an issue of expectations where Weapons seemed to be positioning itself to Say Things whereas Resident Evil is just schlock and always has been.
