@ZachTheRide3D I broadly agree but I think it works here because of how he uses negative space and uncanny techniques to make everything feel odd and make the characters feel small.

@pakejanek I've been clarifying this elsewhere but Kane's entire YouTube series - including bits that are live action and shot with modern cameras which are pretty conventional - is in 4:3 so that's worth considering.

See, I wish the movie would have actually played with aspect ratios or something to justify the centre framing more because so much of film nowadays is way too centre-framed and it genuinely does make it seem like it's all designed to be clip farmed for TikTok.

it bugs me that I havent seen anyone mention that you can watch the Backrooms movie in 4:3 and it actually works nothing ever gets put out of frame accidentally, the movie was intentionally shot to work in this aspect ratio and thats really fucking cool
