Oh, and amending the CTM-ITC eligibility threshold for critical minerals to ensure copper is included would also help a lot. So would following through on the Liberals #platform commitments for #mining.

This is the stuff that matters. The majority of mining projects will never be on the MPO list, but if timelines improve as they now seem to be doing, they’ll be a lot more investment coming to Canada in critical minerals, gold and other minerals commodities.

Prime Minister Carney noted how these two projects enjoy the support of the local FN communities. This doesn’t surprise me, because this is what Canadian #mining does, with over 500 agreements across the country. We build relationships that endure, and everyone prospers.

Great to see the Government of Canada include McIlvenna Bay and Red Chris on its “nation-building” priority list and refer them to the new Major Projects Office. This signals that Canada is serious about supporting its mining sector and giving investors confidence. Policy support, infrastructure, and financing, such as amending the Clean Technology Manufacturing Investment Tax Credit, will help these projects move into production.
