Spent a really nice morning at Hilbre over high tide with @SchofieldColin. Gannets, divers, gulls, grebes and ducks on the sea plus waders & geese on the shore. Photo highlights: Purple Sandpipers, Common Scoter and drake Greater Scaup.

Fair to say its been a tad windy on #Wirral these past couple of days . A Drake Scaup @hilbrebirdobs during a flying visit to the island my only h'light. To see a single male is lamentable when once we had a regular winter flock of upwards 300 birds here on the #Deeestuary

A nice early Spring ,walk to the Lighthouse. The spectre of the Co2 pipeline looms in the future a worrying prospect. One of the many Stonechat through the paddocks, a female Reed Bunting, and one of many Common Snipe on the incoming tide at Hoylake

Went to delamere forest for the first time since I was a kid, and was pleasantly surprised to see crossbills at the car park, plus Mediterranean gulls on the mere. Then stopped at Speke hall to see the masses of toads @birderjack @ARC_Bytes
