There's a smarter fat separator out there. The @OXO Good Gravy Fat Separator releases the good stuff from the bottom, leaving the fat behind? Doesn't that make sense? See it and more of our favorite kitchen tools: greatkitchenstuff.com/tools-list/

Did You Know❓You should never scrape or scoop food with the blade of a kitchen knife. This will quickly dull your edge! Knives are meant to be used with an up-and-down motion. If you must, turn it over and push food with the back of your knife. Better yet, use a bench scraper!

We love so many things about our @lecreuset Dutch oven, but the smooth enameled interior is its greatest feature. The color makes it easy to see the fond and the level of browning on the base of the pot, and it is such a pleasure to clean! Read our post: greatkitchenstuff.com/best-dutch-ove…

For the most control when handling a chef's knife, pinch the blade with the thumb and forefinger while wrapping your hand and fingers around the handle. For more on knife handing, check out this crash course from @thekitchn: thekitchn.com/knife-skills-2…

Do your knives look like this? This is often the result of sharpening failures. The bolster (the thick part where the blade meets the handle) needs to be reduced so the length of the blade makes contact with your board. This is why we like knives that don't have full bolsters.😉

My @lecreuset Dutch oven had some pretty tough stains burnt on to the sides and bottom. Luckily, it was nothing that a bit of elbow grease and some @barkeeperfriend couldn't handle!

Home Cooking Tip: Grind your own meat for the best burgers! We use our food processor. The secret? Freeze chunks of your preferred cut of beef (we use flank steak) for 30 minutes, then pulse about 25 times. You can mix in melted butter and spices for extra juiciness and flavor.

If you struggle to clean your new cast iron skillet, we recommend a chainmail scrubber. It's great for the really stubborn, stuck-on gunk. Wondering what our other must-have cast iron accessory is? Check out our related post! greatkitchenstuff.com/cast-iron-acce…

Did You Know❓You should never put your knives in the dishwasher. High heat and harsh detergents can damage the steel and cause the handle to deteriorate (especially if it is made of wood!). Knives can also be damaged or dulled. Hand wash your knives. #kitchentools #knifecare

This ginger storing tip from @Allrecipes is astonishing! Some ideas are so revolutionary, they change the way you prepare food. Until now, we always stored ginger in the freezer. It was easy to grate finely, but difficult to do anything else. allrecipes.com/article/best-w…
