@Matt_Felgate Because the Greens polled ahead of labour, labour is now splitting the vote, not the Greens 💚

The Greens are now 2nd nationally for both vote and seats gained. The “Greens split the vote” argument is dead we’re the antidote to Reform. London:
• 297 seats won
• Represented on 19 councils
• Largest on 5 councils, with 3 majorities
• Most mayoral wins. #GreenParty

@BelinMunshi Labours entitlement to votes is astounding, it needs to be earned. Voters made their decision, and blaming everyone else instead of reflecting on why people turned away from Labour won't rebuild trust.

@BelinMunshi Hey, covered this a few times but, here we go again Labour acting as if residents don't deserve a democratic choice unless it benefits them. We campaigned in communities we live in, care about, and where people were clearly crying out for change.

Final results and analysis RFM: 1453 (+1451) LAB: 1068 (-1496) LDM: 844 (+155) CON: 801 (-563) GRN: 587 (+441) OTH: 245 (+43) RES: 36 (-31) Reform needed +2050 net seat gains in the English local elections to show they are still performing as well as they did at last year’s local elections +1935 to be on par with local by-election results since then +2270 net gains without that necessarily indicating any significant progress in their ability to win council seats (based in winning more from Labour) The average of 8 polls prior to the elections - not including any AI polling put Reform at +1636 seats gained So in a nutshell across both polling and data analysis Reform performed significantly down on there they needed to be / should be. What the elections have highlighted is the fact that the ongoing decline in Reform vote share in polling is now borne out in actual votes cast. Vote share was down 5% from 2025 from 32% to 27% There is an additional gloom factor for Farage. In any further elections Restore will be standing candidates - there are a number of Restore voters who voted Reform purely because Restore were not fielding candidates. In the one area where Restore did stand against Reform they gained more than double the Reform vote and won all 9 seats.

@nickthfchall Hi there, I have publicly condemned on my instagram profile, there is no place for this behaviour in any party.

@Green_CharlieB Yes, but this is the realty of what actually happened here, you split the vote and allowed the Tories to regain the council. Fantastic. Now the Tories get to gut all the decent things Labour actually managed to do in my area. Brilliant work there… slow clap.

@220_d_92_20 We lost Westminster because we lost seats in 4 wards: Bayswater, Hyde Park, Little Venice and West End. The votes we lost to the Greens in these wards were key. Plus the pressure from the Greens in Westbourne and Harrow Road meant we had less resources for the marginal wards.

@Green_CharlieB @220_d_92_20 And the next 4 years will be difficult for Westminster residents. There will be council tax rises, social housing building will be much reduced, and funding for community programs will be much reduced. People’s lives will get harder.

@NafsikaT @220_d_92_20 From a near-standing start, with limited resources and a small local team, we’re proud of this result. Labour clearly felt enough pressure to divert resources into Harrow Road and Westbourne. Perhaps “vote Green, get Tory” wasn’t quite the persuasive line they hoped it would be.

@NafsikaT @220_d_92_20 You aren’t seriously complaining that we took away your resources? We got more heat than the tories, that should have been your focus.

@CRITIKUZ @TheGreenParty @rachelmillward And importantly: abusers are not stopped by a sign on a bathroom door. Someone willing to assault or harass women is already willing to break rules. Bathroom bans mainly affect ordinary trans people trying to use public facilities safely, not predators.

@CRITIKUZ @TheGreenParty @rachelmillward The assumption being made is that allowing a trans woman into a women’s space is equivalent to “allowing males into women’s spaces,” but in practice society already handles privacy through behaviour rules, cubicles, stalls, and social norms not genital inspections at the door.
