It’s tough watching the fall of Jordan Peterson. Like many, his books and speeches have transformed my life. But he appears to have changed. No longer a free speech absolutist and brutally honest academic. He’s something more cowardly. In a strange twist of fate, this turn of events is reflective of his own teachings in a way. He has ossified, become corrupt, like all power structures do (according to his doctrine). And now he lives under the thumb of the Daily Wire, who we know moderate the content that their platform produces. The mask has been lifted: Peterson and the Daily Wire are both conservative in name only. When it comes down to it, they want censorship and control over information as much as the leftists do.
