Unfortunately the weather has beaten us again. Believe it or not we actually ran a mower over this area 2 weeks ago.

18/4 @ChadWeather Today marks 10 months since i considered the rains started on June 18th Last year here at Chorley GC 306 days, only 92 dry days Total rain - 1844mm(72.7") Our 24 year 12 month annual average is 46.2" This year so far - 109 days only 37 dry days 564mm(22.2")

Another 20mm over the weekend

Another 14mm of rain last night taking the total of Aprils rainfall to 42mm and we’re only 5 days in, 😭😭😭😭😭😭

25.5 mm of rain in the last two days. Thats brings the total for March up to now to 96mm of rain and there was actually a dry week at the beginning of the month. March madness 😭

9th Green is back open, we’re still waiting for some areas to recover but this will come with rising temperatures. Enjoy the sunny☀️weather.

@Greenmountgc I have found that Garlic or anything spicy that your F&B team have spare in powder form does help but they do eventually move elsewhere. Feeding the set definitely helps too, just hope the squirrels don’t eat it all before the badgers do 😂

Do any fellow Greenkeepers have any advice/help how to deal with badgers? 🦡 we’re being hit hard at the moment with them digging the ground up with a few areas right next to the greens

@Greenmountgc Agree with feeding next to the set as have heard this works well. Also if you leave a trail of food away from the course they are a creature of habit so will get used to going the other way over time and hopefully find a food source away from the course.
