A consortium led by U.S. businessman David Storch has completed a takeover of Sheffield Wednesday. Wednesday will start next season’s League One on zero points after the English Football League (EFL) removed the pre-existing 15-point penalty as a result of the club satisfying insolvency rules upon exiting administration, saying that the sporting punishment was no longer considered “appropriate”. Storch — who has spent his career in the aviation industry — will be joined by son, Michael, and Tom Costin in a deal led through investment firm Arise Capital Partners.
