@aria_gerson I think it’s something of a joke that Lunardi has made a career of this for so long. When all is said and done, he’s only sticking his neck out for like, 2-3 picks.

It’s crazy to me how much people take this stuff as gospel. Neither Lunardi, nor any other bracketologist, actually knows what the committee will do. We can guess or have an opinion, but no one actually *knows*

This time last year, Vandy had a .292 batting average. Right now, Vanderbilt is hitting .314.
Last year Vanderbilt had a 15% walk rate and 19% strikeout rate. This year it’s 14.9% BB, 20.4% K. So the increased average has mostly been from better quality of contact

Something notable is that last year’s team was 15th of 16 in the SEC in batting average and 13th in home runs. They aren’t really “giving up” average since they already weren’t hitting for average. Going all-in on power helps maximize the skillsets of their roster
