“Super El Niño” is not a term used officially by NOAA.

May 12, 2022: A powerful derecho roared through the Central Plains and Midwest. The line produced wind gusts over 100 mph, spawned 32 tornadoes (five EF2s), and was accompanied by a prominent haboob. Five people were killed and the damage toll reached $1.3 billion. #wxhistory

What does TWC’s @GregPostel have against LeBron and Bronny? I mean, def a lot of nepotism going on there but dang. And LeBron (I’m from Akron area and not a huge fan) played amazing. No Luka and against the hottest team since Jordan’s Bulls imo.

LeBron and Bronny made NBA history tonight. First Father-Son duo to get swept.

On this day 3 years ago, we were tucked just northeast of a tight surface low in Nebraska and caught this incredible tornado near Spalding. The day before, we also saw a slew of photogenic tornadoes on the same low in Western Kansas. Favorite chase stretch of 2023 fosho

The northernmost city in the U.S., Utqiagvik, Alaska is now experiencing non-stop daylight until August. GOES-18 observed the Earth's terminator that divides day and night pass to the south of Utqiagvik, beginning the phenomenon known as "midnight sun".

@GregPostel Had that happen last year and diverted to Indy as well. 50mph cross wind and came in way too low and pilot ripped it back up just before touch down 🫠

It wouldn’t be a flight into Chicago if I wasn’t ready to puke violently upon landing followed by smacking the ground

Oh … and there are millions of light years *between* galaxies. And there are trillions of galaxies in our observable universe. So … have fun & make the most of today! 😁

It’s kinda terrifying how big space is. We are effectively alone. Voyager 1 space probe, launched in 1977, traveling at ~40,000 mph, now in nearly dark emptiness, is about 75,000 years from the *nearest star*, 4 light years away. Our own galaxy is 100,000 light years across 😱

Article provides helpful context, but I take issue with the headline. It is entirely unclear we're going to see a "record-breaking El Niño". The current consensus forecast is for a Niño3.4 value of similar magnitude to 2023/2024 (~2.0C) & much smaller than 2015/2016 (~2.7C)
