I got a few side eyes for selling all my $TSLA shares a few days ago but we're continuing to making lower lows and lower highs. At the same time, the short puts that I sold on $TSLA earlier this week are crushing it. I combined the short puts with some LEAP calls essentially create synthetic stock (achieving a combined delta of 1). I'm +$23,241 on $TSLA over the last 7 days. Learning to trade options professionally is more valuable than my law degree....

@GregProctor The side eyes are because if you are trading for long term, better to just let tesla ride and buy more on the dips. If you are day trading fine to buy and sell. Personally i believe in the former.

@options_matrix @GregProctor You are completely correct. It is definitely diverging from one another currently like you said but it’s still nice profiting one way or another on positions I’d like to own long term anyway. Have a great weekend brother.

@Slobb_24 I love this strategy. I would roll up the untested side when you can to minimize your delta skew.

@GregProctor I sold covered calls on my shares and sold CSPs with the same delta for Dec exp so my up or down is covered and when one is up considerably I’ll close it and let the other ride. 💪

@thedaniellemmon Yes absolutely. I also want to hold equities long term. The only reason I'm not holding Tesla right now is because of the high level of uncertainty, which also makes premiums high for options.

@GregProctor Nice work Greg! Do you think it makes more sense for beginners to have a greater % equities to cash so they don’t miss upside with too much cash and they aren’t yet maximizing options gains on their available capital?

Fair. Here’s what I did: on Monday I sold my shares and sold short puts. Tuesday TSLA went up 5% and I rolled up my short puts for profit. I also decided to buy some LEAP calls in case TLSA was done making lower lows. This created essentially synthetic stock because my delta combined on the LEAPS and short puts was 1 (meaning their combined movement moves 1 for 1 with stock). On Wednesday TSLA continued to rise so I rolled up the short puts again for profit and closed out my LEAPs. Today TSLA is down so my twice rolled up short puts are negative but that’s expected and not surprising. They will be profitable again or if not I’ll take assignment with the cash from selling my shares.

@GregProctor Think I'm missing something. Your sold puts are crushing despite relatively big red day for TSLA? What is strike?

March 2026 Options P/L: +$46,924.92 📊 March was an interesting options month. The month end options profit was $46k or 4.6% profit /month (55% profit annualized). Of course, not every month will be this good. We were fortunate that Tuesday and today are green days because some of my short puts were starting to get tested. These two green days allowed me to roll out any puts that were at 17 DTE out in time and to a lower delta. Now my portfolio is very well prepared to capture the contracting volatility if it does turn out that the Iran War is winding down. I did sell all my $TSLA at pretty terrible timing (at least from today's perspective) but I created synthetic stock for about 1000 shares should we continue to grind up. My short puts will continue to print if we do.

March Monthly Review: Closed +13,000 in premium for the month. This was on the lighter side because I took off a lot of hedges too early when $TSLA broke under 400. The stock kept grinding lower, so I shifted into adding long-dated short put exposure instead. Those puts should help build the 2027 P&L nicely over time. Overall I’m happy with the result. Could I have squeezed out another 20k if I had traded more optimally with my usual exposure level? Probably. But I’ll take the 13k and move on. Monthly reports below for the brokerage. Ytd pnl $426,000
