3+ years of undergraduate research by Alyssa Clay and Rachel Cooke is out today in Angewandte! Their efforts were beyond impressive, and although I miss them greatly, I now get to watch them move on to even bigger successes!!!

Ten+ years. Hundreds of collaborations. Many (many) hours of intense meetings. Thousands of experiments repeated. Countless friendships made. A scientific legacy just beginning to be realized. Congrats team on a job well done! @ibbgatech @GTSciences @GT_CHEM @NSF @NASAAstrobio

A great first day--amazing talks and some really fabulous discussions with our speakers. Excited to continue this discussion tomorrow! Thanks @VGrassian @SzostakLab @GregSpringsteen and the other non-tweeting speakers! Inspiring science! @ibbgatech @NSF @NASAAstrobio #Origins

No catalyst? No problem. A new study finds chemical reactions involved in early metabolism on Earth may not have required enzymes to work. With critical contributions from early career astrobiologists, the paper was published in the journal @nature. More: go.nasa.gov/2UxFZUb

@GregSpringsteen @FurmanU @QuantaMagazine @4ChemEvolution @NSF @astrobiology @dreyfusfndn @NASA Dr. Springsteen, fascinating work. is there any way to get a copy of this pape? I'm fascinted by TCA and reverse TCA. wld consider it great discovery if we could find something close to rTCA or homologous to it, growing wild on a planet somewhere. thx

Our work on a potential prebiotic analog of the the TCA Cycle is out in Nature Chemistry today. Congratulations to Trent and Mahipal! nature.com/articles/s4155…

A new study published today in @NatureChemistry shows that nearly all the ingredients for a potential forerunner to cellular metabolism could have formed easily from just two simple compounds reacting in water. quantamagazine.org/new-clues-to-c…
