@amitylee13 There's a big difference between government and the Mafia. The government has flags in front of its offices.

@dailydirtnap Strictly speaking, socialism means a government near-monopoly in a sector, like public schools, welfare, courts, policing...and they all of suck. I'd use the term "corporatism" (cronyism) for taking a stake in Intel.

Trusting "science" got a lot of people into trouble. This includes many physicians, few of whom do original research. Doctors must also decide whom to trust, so it is unsurprising that more of them than ever, not only the public, are now wary of public health "authorities".

It’s disappointing that in @HHSGov’s shifting rationale for ending certain mRNA vaccine research, NIH Director Dr. Bhattacharya separated the government’s public health role from its duty to foster pro-science public consensus. Public trust is vital, but urging Americans to disregard science and their physicians is a step in the wrong direction. spr.ly/6010fSkR2

What the AMA forgets, is that in 2021, they encouraged COVID vaccine mandates that ignored both science and the principle of informed consent. This disregard has significantly contributed to the erosion of public trust in health institutions. It’s time for the AMA to acknowledge this failure, reflect, and take meaningful steps toward reform. Evidence of the AMA’s stance can be seen here: 🔗 thehill.com/policy/healthc… 🔗 thehill.com/policy/healthc…

I often have flashbacks to 2020-23 and I'm stunned we lived through it all, the insane witch-hunts for dissidents, the professional punishments for daring to ask questions, the public shaming and hate unleashed on scholars and scientists who said perfectly normal things.

"Tax the rich" is just political code for "steal because someone has something to steal." It is envy dressed up as morality. The creed of the petty, the lazy, and the small-minded, and the tantrum of a spoiled, grasping child who, having never built a thing in their life, screams because another kid is happily playing with their toys, and demands the teacher take them away in the name of “fairness.”
Emma Vigeland@EmmaVigeland

Instead of saying "tax the rich to materially improve working people's lives," Senator Slotkin is offering to be a meaner traffic cop on the road to Gilded Age levels of wealth concentration. The future of the Democratic Party, because... uh, younger than Schumer? And CIA stuff?

It takes a retarded mind to think Javier Milei is Trump 2.0. Milei has actually cut the size of government, cut federal spending, cut taxes & even eliminated some taxes, & freed the markets. Argentina is a boom economy. Trump gave us COVID tyranny, BBB, & a $9 trillion debt.
