Dear @madders @kennedyalexa I know you don’t know me, but your my sons idol @spursofficial we had the privilege to meet you briefly in September at a training session but only briefly as you were in physio in the gym following your injury but you still took the time to come say hello which shows the kind of person you are! I know you must get 1000’s of messages with fans but this one is more heartbreaking that Harley’s unfortunately running out of time and extremely poorly without surgery he won’t make his 16th birthday we need to raise a lot of money for surgery to save he’s life it will be a miracle if we manage to but I won’t give up as a parent nobody would on their child I’m not asking you for money but if you’d be willing to to meet Harley in person and make he’s dream come true he only has 25% lung function on a ventilation and oxygen but he still lights up any room he wheels into he’s obsessed with Tottenham it’s his passion I would love if I could make a wish come true and he could have a cup of tea with he’s favourite person he never misses a game! I know this is a long shot but whilst my heart is breaking I just want to see him smile and happy as he’s suffered so much he’s entire life he’s recently built an army rooting for him on social media trying to share he’s story please be part of that . Very sad to hear of the passing of Bèla Tarr, aged 70. My 2019 Little White Lies interview discussing 25 years of Sàtàntangó will forever be one of my most cherished memories in film journalism. We met in the evening at a Berlin hotel bar. He proceeded to drink pint after pint with a twinkle in his eye and an irreverence about his achievements. Self-deprecation seemed to be his defence against the revere many of us held (and hold) him in. My favourite Tarr film will always be his last, The Turin Horse, but his whole catalogue remains extremely special. Goodbye to a filmmaking genius.

Slightly stunned to learn that both Mick Jagger and The Rolling Stones shared my latest feature on Instagram at the weekend. It centred around the Stones’ first work since 2023’s HACKNEY DIAMONDS. CC Adcock produced their blistering cover of Clifton Chenier’s ‘Zydeco Sont Pas Salés’ — a song that finds Jagger singing ‘perfect’ French Creole (no less!). Both that track and the associated album, A Tribute to the King of Zydeco, has been nominated for a 2026 GRAMMY award.

Plus, people are lying to themselves if they don’t think that Radiohead and Alt-J haven’t done this sort of stuff so much better. People are so desperate for half-decent, that mid is heralded as top tier.

I’m sorry, but this Geese bandwagon is one big yawn now. Pretty much topping every poll in sight is a ridiculous overreaction to an album that is simply a well-executed indie/alt rock work, and not much more. Getting Killed is not the generational record that all this praise would indicate.

@blurofficial For me, it’s St. Louis that is arguably the standout B-side from this era. Glad it’s on the re-release. Just wish that garish new album design was tossed in the bin.
