@IssuesEtc @WmWeedon Thoughts on Divine Service liturgy, but accompanied by guitar, bass, drums, piano instead of organ. (And the band not "on stage"). Maybe a few different tunes, but identical words.

@Wendi_Irlbeck @Cernovich There are 2 primary reasons. One you mentioned: court shoes, not squishy running shoes with no lateral support. But the biggie is: NEVER run or walk backwards. Turn, move forward, turn back to hit the ball or just let it go!

🚨Attention pickleball folks.. please do a proper warmup before playing! Around 19,000 pickleball-related injuries are reported annually in U.S. emergency departments, up from about 8,900 in 2020 to nearly 17,000 in 2022. About 90% of these injuries happen to people aged 50 and older. The most common injuries are fractures (27%), sprains and strains (27%), and bruises or abrasions (11%), with falls being the main cause of fractures. The most affected bones are the radius, humerus, and ulna, particularly in women > 60. Why so many injuries? •age-related changes •inadequate warm-ups •improper equipment •too much too quick To stay safe, it helps to warm up properly, wear court-specific shoes, stay hydrated, practice good technique, and listen to your body. Stay safe out there!

A devotion on Abraham, Isaac, and Jesus: Genesis 22:1–19 The lesson of Abraham and Isaac atop Mount Moriah is not that God doesn’t really want to kill or condemn. The lesson is that God doesn’t want to kill or condemn Isaac. There will be a sacrifice, but the Lord Himself will provide it. There will be blood upon that altar. But the blood will not belong to the condemned sinner. It will belong to the innocent ram, the male lamb with his horns caught in a thicket, with his head wrapped in a crown of thorns. And so let us learn the lesson well. There is no scenario in which God ignores your sins, no scenario in which He gets over them or lets you off easy like a kind police officer giving you a warning instead of a ticket. Your sins are not little imperfections that God understands or finds endearing. In your sin, you are utterly corrupt, evil, an enemy of God. There you were, rebelling against your creator and hungering for His destruction. And because of all this, you deserved death, the grave, breathing your last atop the wood and the flames. But the Lord who had the right to drain your blood didn’t want to see your blood. He only wanted to see the blood of His only Son because that was the only blood that could save you, rescue you from condemnation, destroy your sins, and place you back in His arms. And so the Lord Himself provided the sacrifice by being the sacrifice. The Son of God offered up Himself. The Ram was not caught in a thicket this time, but took the crown of thorns willingly. Out of love for you, out of His endless mercy, the Son of God took your place upon that altar and gave His Father the blood that made you righteous, the only blood His Father wanted to see. There was always going to be blood upon that altar, but it was never going to be yours.

Interesting...the poll flipped overnight in favor of supporting war. I've seen various polls surrounding this question lately, so I wanted to do one with my followers here on X to see where their opinion lands.

@KenDBerryMD When I asked, my doc said they wouldn't because regardless of the results, there wasn't anything (a pill) that could be prescribed to fix it. Frustrating.

@Rainmaker1973 5,118^7 produces 9.1981814e25 in other words: 91,891,814,100,00,000,000,000,000 If you were willing to allow the two equally shaped matches to represent a factorial (!) the number would be even higher.

@bradleylaird But you're such a good storyteller, being of Scottish descent. That was the real value to me as I was never into bluegrass music. I assume may others feel the same. Maybe pivot to just being a storyteller. erGg

I got an email from a nice fellow a couple of days ago asking why I stopped making new podcasts. The bottom line is that I said what I wanted to say. There comes a point where you go from truth gained by observed reality to speculation on what might be. So I stopped. It was fun.

There’s no parking lot like an 80s high school parking lot. You know some of those sweet rides will be cruising town after the football game Friday night.
