Another day, another Zenith engine hot fire... Here we conduct a chirp test of our thrust vector control system - gimbaling the engine at increasing frequency to demonstrate control bandwidth (how fast we can respond to commands in flight). 📈

@algern0n79 Something like 20Gs. Most computer parts could probably handle much higher accelerations though.

I have updated the graph with higher maximum acceleration because my initial estimates for acceleration were probably way too low. Still, even at 500m/s^2 of acceleration, where the mass driver would release the satellite after 4.8 seconds, it would be 5.76km long. These things will be quite long even with some wild acceleration.

Mookafish@Mookafish

These mass drivers are going to be very, very long. I've graphed out the required length of a mass driver depending on the acceleration, assuming they will reach lunar escape velocity (~2,400m/s) Even if the mass driver could reach 50m/s^2 of acceleration (~5G), the mass driver would have to be about 58km long.

Andromeda flight engine awaiting shipment to our test site in Moses Lake, WA. 🔥 Big shout out to the local community and to our partners in the area like the @PORTOFMOSESLAKE and Grant County Sheriff's Office for being good neighbors and sharing the excitement as we work relentlessly toward launch.

Initial Super Heavy V3 and Starbase Pad 2 activation campaign complete, wrapping up several days of testing that loaded cryogenic fuel and oxidizer on a V3 vehicle for the first time. While the 10-engine static fire ended early due to a ground-side issue, we saw successful startup on all installed Raptor 3 engines. Next up: preparing the booster for a 33-engine static fire

Liquid-fueled rockets had their 100th birthday today. Crazy that the technology has been used to give us so many modern comforts, while also unlocking the stars. Imagine where we will be in 100 years from now.

@YouTube #scam

Sharing a couple photos of our GS2s in build and getting their final touches inside our Rocket Park Factory. It's getting a little crowded, but that's exactly the point, manufacturing rate matters.

🚀 A major milestone on the road to RFA ONE’s orbital test flight! We have delivered the first and second stages of our RFA ONE launch vehicle to @SaxaVord_Space in Scotland. This marks an important step as we move toward our first orbital launch, currently planned for summer 2026. Over the past 18 months, our teams have advanced the development of both stages, with improvements to the Helix engine, tank pressurization systems, and operating procedures. The causes of the incident during a hot fire test in August 2024 have been fully understood and resolved. The newly built first stage was tested in Augsburg and has arrived in early February at the launch site, where it will be integrated with its nine Helix engines, currently undergoing final acceptance testing at @SSCspace, Sweden. Our second stage, following a successful hot fire test campaign at Esrange Space Center, has now also safely arrived at SaxaVord and is undergoing final checks. There is still work ahead, but reaching this point is a significant achievement for the entire team. With both stages now at the spaceport, the next phase begins: vehicle integration and stage testing ahead of the first launch campaign this summer! Learn more in our press release ▶️ lnkd.in/gvk3YPB6
