Today, I'm announcing that instead of running for Attorney General, I have decided to work as an attorney on the legal challenges to this upcoming election. The Secretary of State's vocal refusal to comply with the DOJ's efforts to verify voter citizenship, the difficulties facing The SAVE Act, recent discoveries of non-citizens on the voter rolls, conflicts between the Maricopa County Board of Supervisors and the Recorder, E-Qual malfunctions, and other irregularities have given me serious, serious concerns over the security of the upcoming election. This all comes at a time when Democrat politicians are pushing an agenda that non-citizens deserve voting rights and are outwardly encouraging lawless behavior in the name of immigration. I have been very clear that my primary motivation for running for Attorney General has been election integrity. As the election season will soon officially start, it is now clear to me that my role in this upcoming fight needs to be as an election attorney rather than a candidate. I have been in talks with party activists and other attorneys about how we can best support the legal challenges ahead. Announcements will be forthcoming. I would like to thank so many people that volunteered to help with our campaign. We will still need your support in the fight to make the 2026 elections free and fair!

In the past, the Maricopa County Board of Supervisors showed zero interest in removing past recorders, even when they exhibited egregious, clear conflicts of interest—like starting a PAC against America First candidates whose ballots they were tasked with overseeing, or those who violated state law left and right, from ignoring signature verification rules to pushing drop boxes that invited fraud. Only now, when the people of Arizona have rejected the previous regime’s lack of transparency and elected a man, Justin Heap, who ran and won under the understanding that he would restore confidence in our elections, have they intervened. The rumored attempts to remove Recorder Heap are a brazen attempt to undermine the will of the people. The timing of these attempts — coming immediately after the Recorder won a legal victory over the board is highly suspicious and suggests insincere motivations. If the board was truly committed to restoring that confidence, it starts with holding those accountable who have been administering our compromised elections that have made Maricopa County a laughingstock for years. It is not lost on me that there has been more effort and determination to undermine the current recorder than what has transpired over the years in holding those accountable for the malfeasance and corruption of the 2020 and 2022 elections. Additionally, this reckless and irresponsible attempt will only hurt voter participation in future elections, with voters wondering: why vote when the person I vote for and wins can be so easily removed? Recall elections exist for a reason, and election terms exist for a reason. That is the proper remedy for the people to hold their elected officials accountable. Any attempt to oust the duly elected Maricopa County Recorder without a direct vote of the people of Arizona will be seen as nothing less than an undemocratic coup —and irrefutable proof of deep corruption. I was elected to Congress to fight for the people of Arizona — both in Washington and here at home, and I will continue standing with Arizona voters against these attacks on our democracy and election integrity. — CONGRESSMAN ABE HAMADEH

🚨 NON-CITIZENS VOTING IN ARIZONA FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE — Using the Department of Homeland Security’s SAVE database the Maricopa County Recorder's Office has identified 60 non-citizens who previously voted in Maricopa County elections. As part of an effort to confirm full ballot eligibility for 61,681 Maricopa County voters affected by the “MVD-DPOC” issue, the Maricopa County Recorder’s Office conducted a review of these records using the federal SAVE database.   That review confirmed U.S. citizenship and full ballot eligibility for 58,782 voters. Those individuals’ registrations have already been updated to ensure they are able to receive a full ballot in future elections.   However, the review also identified 137 registered voters who are not U.S. citizens. Of those, 60 individuals have voted in prior elections. The Maricopa County Recorder’s Office is referring the identified non-citizens who have cast ballots to both the Arizona Attorney General’s Office and the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office for further review and any appropriate action.   Our office extends its appreciation to the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and @Sec_Noem for expanding access to the SAVE database. We look forward to continued collaboration to ensure election integrity and that only eligible citizens participate in Maricopa County elections.

How many other illegal immigrants have been voting? Arizona has roughly 50,000 people registered to vote who have not verified citizenship.

AZ Law clearly requires all voters to be US Citizens and residents of the State. It's disturbing that the left is seeking to undermine these laws. There are almost 50,000 voters that have not shown proof of citizenship (the "Federal Only" voters). As AG I will verify their citizenship, as the law requires.

Far left criminal organizations are setting up checkpoints in Minneapolis. This is organized crime. The Attorney General should investigate these groups and prosecute them for their unlawful behavior.

Local law enforcement is nowhere to be found. This type of chaos leads to horrible outcomes. In times like these, it's important for the Attorney Generals office to ensure the public that the law is being enforced. Too many Dems, including our AG Kris Mayes are unfortunately stoking the fire to generate clicks and raise money.
