I'm pleased to share a recent study from myself and @JamesKaufman. We used instructional prompts to guide participants through the creative problem-solving process. They improved solution creativity, and the effect was mediated by engagement. Free link: authors.elsevier.com/a/1mFBR3QACxzF…

Hello there creativity researchers! Does anyone know if there has been an update to Feist's 1998 meta-analysis on personality differences between scientists and artists? #creativity #research

@OyeRonke_ @ThePhDPlace I try to engage in productive procrastination. When writing feels overwhelming, it's usually because I need to break the process down a bit by building up a more detailed outline to help create a structure and fit the pieces together. The writing flows when the pieces are there.

I’m in that brutal thesis phase where my brain and fingers just aren’t in sync I’ve taken time off, switched writing locations, kept reading for inspo… but still stuck. So now I’m asking Twitter Any other tricks for breaking the writing block? @ThePhDPlace

I've been enjoying reading Simonton's (1984) Genius, Creativity, & Leadership. Over 40 years later, connections between economic insecurity, dogmatism and authoritarianism, and creativity are as relevant as ever. #creativity

This was a fun piece to write. My peer and I synthesized insights from our doctoral studies in gifted and talented education, highlighting key tensions and lessons pertinent to broader conversations about educational reform. #Education #edutwitter doi.org/10.14507/cie.v…

@ZoranaPsych Agreed. I was talking to a peer about a seemingly lasting shift toward seriousness. I was curious about the literature, but a quick search didn't turn up anything.

@Gregory_Boldt Not sure about graduate studies, but college increases openness. My bet on doctoral studies would be higher neuroticism.

Is anyone aware of studies assessing the long-term influence of education on personality? Particularly interested in anything exploring whether/how graduate studies might have a lasting effect on one's personality. #AcademicChatter #research #psychology

Just read this lovely review of meta-analyses examining predictors of achievement in postsecondary education. Highly recommended to anyone interested in assessing the influences of different instructional strategies. doi.org/10.1037/bul000… #AcademicTwitter #Teaching

I don't agree with claims that AI will replace teachers, but it certainly can automate a lot of menial tasks when used correctly. #edchat #edutwitter

I'm seeking scales for some instrument validation work. What are your preferred scales for measuring: 1) Teachers' ability to teach for creativity (self-ratings)? 2) Students' creative abilities (teacher ratings)? #creativity #education #edchat
