1/ OMG! Why does this keep happening? Is insufficient due diligence being performed by NHS Trust leadership when appointing these surgeons & doctors? We have repeatedly warned of and predicted the emergence of another case like that of Eljamel.

🔥I hate to say it, but this is on a par with Butcher Eljamel and @NHSTayside! 😡 “Junior staff felt unable to speak up and crucial safety checks like proper surgical audits and multidisciplinary reviews simply didn’t happen.” Just WTF is going on in our NHS?!! 💔

I want to look @NHSTayside in the eye — see their body language, hear how they try to “justify” the destruction of 40 theatre log books, despite a “Do Not Destroy” order in place . That’s impossible from behind a screen. Trust eroded, yet again. #WeDontMatter #Eljamel

@julesmrose When Lord Weir told us this Inquiry would be trauma-informed & patient-centred, we welcomed it. Now it feels like the opposite. We fought long & hard for this Inquiry — yet we patients are being treated as an optional add-on to the process. That sense of betrayal is justified.
