An accomplished business woman, she owns De La Grenade Industries, which produces food products. A bit of trivia: she is the first cousin of Maurice Bishop, Grenada’s Prime Minister during the 1979-1983 revolution. Her Excellency’s father and Bishop’s mother were siblings.

Cécile Ellen Fleurette La Grenade was born in La Borie, Saint George, on 30 December 1952, into the prominent La Grenade family. A doctor of food science by education, Her Excellency served as Chair of the Public Service Commission before her Viceregal appointment in 2013

Her Excellency Governor-General Dame Cécile La Grenade has now marked 13 years in office as Governor-General of Grenada. Through 13 years of steadfast service to the Crown and Grenada, Her Excellency has been a model Governor-General. She will hopefully serve many more years.

@kynakwado2 We have requested that the government make a formal request for an official state portrait from the King multiple times, but they have sadly declined to do so. Unfortunately, after the late Queen’s death, her portraits have been removed but not replaced in government offices

Today we celebrate the 3 year anniversary of the coronation of His Majesty King Charles III. On 6. May 2023, His Majesty was crowned King of Grenada and his 14 other Realms. Governor-General Dame Cécile La Grenade and Prime Minister Dickon Mitchell attended the coronation.
