@stelzner Having spent the day doing dog-mom work, I agree they are part of the family. But before we focus on pets, I’d really prefer see a more inclusive leave policy across the board. This definition of “immediate family” is too limited for today’s employees.

I'm sure not everyone will agree, but I feel that employees experiencing the loss of a beloved pet should be afforded bereavement leave by their employers. For many, these are family members and we should extend the same level of compassion and care.
