Even before the prequels came out, certain parts of Gen X were acting like the Ewoks in Return of the Jedi were the greatest atrocity committed to film.
Some of their complaints are valid, but other times it really just comes across as hating anything whimsical or fun.

As I've said already, this is the kind of exaggerated Gen X hate toward the prequels I'm talking about.
Yes, I get that for a certain generation they were disappointing. To act like they're the worst cinematic abortions of all time though is really overstating the case.

It doesn't just suck. The Phantom Menace has my vote for the worst Hollywood blockbuster ever made. It's an atrocious film with incoherent plotting and terrible acting. Plus the character of Jar-Jar Binks, King of Cringe, which makes several scenes unwatchably embarrassing.
