In the 2020 NC Democratic Primary, Yang and I were both on the ballot. Presidential contests generate greater turnout and enthusiasm. As you go down the ballot, you’ll see drop off. I still received more than 205 times his votes. “Make Americans Think Harder,” or whatever. 🙃

@nerdsforyang Media went Jeremy Corbyn on Yang. Absolutely distorted his name credibility. The NYC media machine was too strong for yang.

A lot of people hating on Tusk for Yang's loss but I think the main cause was too many of New York's democratic voters weren't interested in him. They saw him as an outsider, his policies were too unusual, and he was a threat to the party power structure.

Why was Tusk Strategies not willing to have Dave Chappelle, but they were willing to go on “Baited with Ziwe” whose whole show’s purpose is to be controversial and clip guests out of context saying something that could get them “cancelled”?

@nerdsforyang The biggest reason was the NYC media machine. They were relantless with their hitpieces. Yang was frontrunner for majority of the race with high name recognition. The machine won at the end.

As for whether Tusk made bad recommendations, I'm sure he did like any advisor does. But ultimately, that accountability has to land with Andrew who hired Tusk and as the principal, has to approve of most major strategy decisions throughout the campaign.

In the end, voters didn't believe @AndrewYang was ready to leap into the top leadership of NYC -- no matter how loudly the tedious trolls of the #YangGang insisted otherwise.
