@AndyGipsonforMS The Public Policy Building/Department is named after Trent Lott. The building that houses the Center for Manufacturing and excellence is named for Haley Barbour. I think you are looking to deep into this and it’s just being named after an esteemed Alumni.

I must admit I was disappointed today to see the University of Mississippi choose to name their entire Political Science department after one of the most liberal Mississippi politicians in our State’s history. It seems odd to identify the Ole Miss political science department after an individual who has been so critical of conservative principles and of President Trump - to name the entire department after one who has been so supportive of DEI and liberal ideologies such as abortion and transgenderism. Are these policies now being held in such esteem by the University of Mississippi? Is Ole Miss trending to be more like ultra-liberal Harvard? It makes you wonder what will be taught at the Ole Miss Political Science department. This is very disturbing to me as a taxpayer. That type of stat is not widely available for either political party as a whole, but you can find a score card for specific senators. Wicker ,however, does not vote with the other side more than his own. He has a lifetime score of 60%.
